Compared to your
brain, a computer is as simple as a child's erecter set.
There are two things people fear:
dying in pain
and dying as an unconscious imbecile.
I can live with my bifocals and
my bowels in a bind. I can handle all the wrinkles and
the bald head.
But I sure do miss my mind

Causes
of
Alzheimer’s Disease
By Robert
J. Rowan, MD
If you live long
enough your
brain will shrink. Alzheimer Disease is fairly new-comer to humans due to new
dental procedures of using mercury fillings.
Another cause is the fluoride and aluminum in
drinking water. Aluminum
deposits are almost always found in the
brains of people dying from Alzheimer's.
Did you know that Morton Salt contains
aluminum. Start reading the labels of
everything. you buy. Drugs, chemicals,
toxins, infections that people live with
every day also effect memory loss The first
sign of a brain tumor should be attended to
as it may lead to memory loss. Worse
cause can be due to chronic chemical
poisoning Methyl alcohol ingestion.
Hypothyroidism (low thyroid production) is
misdiagnosed as
Alzheimer Disease by doctors in some cases.
There is a simple temperature test that can
be made to determine if hypothyroidism is the
problem, talk to your doctor if you have
symptoms.
One of the simplest causes of memory
loss and most overlooked is dehydration.
When an extended period without water your
brain is the first to suffer. Even minor
periods without water can impair
concentration, memory and reaction time. It
is important to maintain a healthy diet,
drink 8 glasses of water each day and
include the listed vitamins and herbs in
this report below.
Exercise the brain: with crossword puzzles, take
a college course, learn how to use the computer, and increase social
interaction. Use the 5 physical senses and emotional senses including dancing,
boating, travel, time with friends, lovers and family. Add spice to your life by
having fun, smile a lot and above all do whatever it takes to reduce stress.
Exercise your brain like you exercise the muscles in your body to stay healthy
and sharp in other words get and stay active.
As the old saying goes:
"Use
it or lose it"

Definition of
Alzheimer’s Disease
The
progression of Alzheimer’s Disease
robs short-term memory then long-term memory
and the ability to reason, plan, communicate and perceive. At
the age of 6 months you have all of your
brain cells and it has been proven that it
is possible to generate new brain cells by a
team of American and Swedish neurologists.
The test were made on patients in age from
55 to 70 in 1998 at Sahlgrenska University
Hospital in Sweden.
Alzheimer’s Disease begins where the nerve
cells called neurons send messages along
synapses (junctions or pathways between nerve cells) to other regions of
the brain responsible for memory, rationalization, and sending commands to the
rest of the body to process sensory input and movement. In Alzheimer patients certain protein based plaques called
beta-amyloids form roadblocks on the synapse. This causes
the brain's communication system to shut down as cells misfire and eventually
die. As the nerve cells expire, twisted fibers or "tangles" of a protein
called 'tau" build up inside them.

Dr.
Robert J. Rowen reported that there is a procedure
available that has reversed Alzheimer's disease within minutes in 45 out of 50 patients treated. Some of the
patients went from 0% to 90% reversal of memory capabilities
after receiving this procedure. The procedure must be administered by a qualified doctor as the injection
is to the spinal canal in the neck at the base of the skull. The results of this procedure show that after three years there was no sign of regression. A
basic arthritic drug used is etanercept with a trade name Enbrel.
|
|
Dr. Rowen also reported that patients that are on Lipitor
and other stations drugs to control cholesterol have suffered
memory loss. Based on research studies; stress starves the
brain of essential oxygen and nutrients causing brain cells to die.

Specific foods & HERBS
THAT WILL prevent
Alzheimer’s Disease
The nutrients in specific foods
that prevent oxidation of fat molecules are presented in
the following chart. Oxidation
process is what
produces free radical molecules that cause aging and degenerative
diseases –including Alzheimer’s.
These foods and herbs include vitamins B, C,
D and E.
|
Specific foods
which are
rich in folic acid & B Vitamins to protect
against oxidation & free radical damage

high in Omega-3 three times each week.
Sockeye salmon, farmed
trout and flounder are rich in omega-3 and
omega-6. This also includes herring,
haddock, tuna, cod and
mackerel. Based on a study of 5000 people, those who ate the most fish had the
lowest incidence of dementia
Fish Oil
The
DHA
and EPA in fish oil also helps. Doctors measured the level of fatty acids in
blood samples from over 1,000 people with the average age of 75. This study
showed that those with high levels of Omega 3 fatty acid DHA had a 48%
reduced risk of having Alzheimer's disease.
Benefits of
Omega 3
Omega 3 fatty acids cleanse the toxins that
tend to build up in brain tissue and rebuilds healthy cellular protein.

Specific foods
Olive oil
|
A research study of
people on the
Mediterranean diet with the highest intake of
olive oil scored the best on cognitive
functions, including attention span and other memory skills |
|
Specific foods
Beta carotene |
Beta carotene can be
obtained from carrots and other highly colored
fruits and vegetables. Based on a study
conducted with 5,000 people, those that included
diets with high beta carotene were less likely
to have problems with attention span and other
mental abilities. (FC&A Medical Publishing)

Vitamins
Folic Acid,
B12 & B6
|
|
 |
|
Scientists at the University of Oxford
conducted a study on 168 people over
70
years of age for 2.5 years. They gave them high
doses of folic acid, vitamins B12 & B6
supplements every day. The results of the study
showed that brain shrinkage associated with
dementia was reduced by 53%. People with
Alzheimer's has brain shrinkage of up to 2.5%
per year. The B vitamins lowered
homocysteine and supported the membranes around
the brains neurons. Vitamin B12 regulates the
formation of red blood cells, and is linked to
the formation o formation of acetylcholine which
is vital for memory and learning. Folic acid,
vitamins B12 & B6 lowers homocysteine .
Vitamin B12 1000 mcg with Folic Acid 400 mcg in
liquid form can be purchased at HOMECARE

Vitamins
D3 |
In
a recent study scientists measured blood levels
of vitamin D3 in
1,766
patients over the age of
65.
They also tested their cognitive function.
The results of the study showed that the
patients that showed signs of impairment had a
deficient of vitamin D3. Researchers have
confirmed that the brain has Vitamin D3 receptors
and is dependant upon vitamin D3.

memory cleared up and her hair also return to
its original color.
|
|
Aspirin 81 mg |
A study that showed inflamed brain tissue
contributes to Alzheimer’s disease.
(FC&A Medical Publishing 2003). Also
based on research, people that took anti-inflammatory medications reduced
the risk of contracting Alzheimer's by 50 to 75%. The immune system clears
out damaged tissue that contains plaques and tangles found in Alzheimer's
patients, according to Richard Linchitz, M.D.
One aspirin at 81 mg each day is also
recommended by the medical profession to protect from heart diseases.
|
|
Hormones |
Research
suggests that some hormones may improve your memory. In a controlled study, women that took
estrogen were 1/3 less likely to develop Alzheimer’s and as for men testosterone
was used with the same results. (FC&A Medical Publishing 2003)
|
|
Stress |
Stress
will do great deal of damage to your brain in the form of a hormone called cortisol
(the stress hormone). This hormone does the following:
|
1. |
It shifts glucose (energy)
utilization away from the memory
center of the brain |
|
2. |
It breaks down the production
of neurotransmitters which is a
chemical used by the brain |
|
3. |
It kills brain cells |
|
|
Carbenoxolone also known as licorice root
extract |
This herb works by lowering cortisol (the stress
hormone) and has been proven to improve brain
function by 10% based on a small study by The
National Academy of Sciences

Summary FOR Brain
Health and how to Prevent
Alzheimer’s &
STROKES
In order to prevent or
reduce
Alzheimer’s Disease
and
to reduce the chance of having a
stroke, take on the
recommended listed nutrients and specific foods that prevent oxidation of
fat molecules and start using one or more of the memory supplements listed in this report.
Also start a physical and mental exercise
program of your choice. To prevent killing your brain cells eliminate stress in your life.
|
 |
|
The brain is in three
parts-fore, mid and hind-protected by
three membranes called the meninges. The nervous system
sends signals to the brain as a means
of warning signals that
something is wrong. The brain contains
tissue that must be
protected from toxins that causes
Alzheimer’s. It is also
important to keep the blood supply going to the brain to keep it
healthy and to prevent having a stroke.

A proven cure for
ALZHEIMER'S OR dementia
by Frank
Shallenberger,
md and Mary Newport, MD
This case study is about Dr.
Mary Newport and her husband Steve.
Steve was very active as an accountant which
included administrative and management tasks. Then tragedy strikes when Steve's
memory started to fail him. He had the usual systems of forgetting most
everything and becoming disoriented. A neurologist put him on the drug
Aricept, Namenda and Exelon which did not help. Steve was enrolled
in studies on new experimental drugs and as part of the program he was given
Mental Status Exams (MMSR) He scored 14 out of 30 on his first test which
indicated a case of severe dementia. As part of the test he was asked to
draw a clock from memory.
|
 |
Clock drawing

(MMSR)
test on the first week
|
As part of the test program
Steve received an MRI of his
brain and it showed a shrinking of the hippocampus and damage to his frontal and
parietal lobes and was tested positive for the leading Alzheimer's gene.
Steve's long term memory would click in part of the time, but his short term
memory was gone. By searching the internet Dr. Newport found a research
experimental drug called Ketasyn. She learned that in the study of Alzheimer's
patients there was an improvement in half of the cases. She learned that the main
ingredient in the drug was a medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs) derived from
coconuts. Dr. Newport went to
the health food store and purchased some coconut oil mixed it in with Steve's
morning oatmeal. Steve's next MMSR test came back with a score of 18 a 28%
improvement. Steve said the light switch came on and the fog lifted.
In
this case study Steve continued to improve by taking
coconut oil to the point he was over 90% cured after two months.
The results of his test clock
drawings are below.

|
Reason coconut oil and
other MCT's work
Coconut oil and MCTs increase the
body's production of compounds called ketones which produce the following
results
|
1. |
25% more energy for the
brain when using Ketones rather than glucose. |
|
2. |
A Ketone-producing (coconut
oil - MCTs) diet results in a 39% increase
blood flow to the brain |
|
3 |
A study found that mice
put on a ketone producing diet had fewer brain plaques than mice on a
standard diet. |
|
4. |
Dr.Shallenberger started
including MCTs as a treatment for dementia based on the results of
this case has produced the same degree of
improvement with his patients |

Exercise your brain like you exercise the muscles in your body to stay healthy
and sharp.
Based on several reports the people that have a healthy spiritual relationship
have been healed and have peace of mind that helps them cope with pain and
stress.
Living a healthy life in terms of diet and
exercise may increase one's life expectancy, but worry sure won't! if worry
leads to ulcers just the opposite may be the case.
For every 1.0 increase in BMI, risk of
Alzheimer's Disease is increased by 30%.

Based on a research study at the University of
Kansas School of Medicine, by staying physical fit will decrease the chance of
getting Alzheimer's Disease or Dementia and may delay the disease up to two years. Brain
shrinkage was less pronounced in those in the research study that exercised.
The
Journal of the American Medical Association reported that people that did
regular workouts after suffering a stroke showed an increase in activity
in the un-damaged parts of their brain which took over for the damaged areas. Research studies by University of Texas show
that exercise improves memory, concentration, abstract reasoning
and will delay
Alzheimer's Disease.
Aerobic exercise increases blood flow to the brain, which nourishes brain cells
and promotes the growth of new neurons (brain cells) in the hippocampus- the part of the brain that controls memory and learning.
Please go to the Fitness
Page for an exercise program that will help with memory problems. Adult human
beings are capable of generating new brain cells according to researchers at
Salk Institute at the Sahigrenska University Hospital in Sweden.
Avoid the following:
high blood sugar, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, poor circulation, infections, toxins, too much alcohol, ruts,
stress, unsafe medications,
drugs and smoking.
